Courtney King is an associate attorney at Ice Miller LLP. Apart from being a lawyer, Courtney King is also a board member at AYS Inc., a nonprofit organization located in Indianapolis that provides high-quality educational programs for children outside of school hours.
Through the years, AYS has organized events that help promote its mission. One such program was Art Yields Success which was held last year on March 13, 2015. Art Yields Success was an event which showcased the numerous enrichment opportunities which are being provided by the AYS. The event hosted several activities including live art demonstrations, wine tastings, and a silent auction.
The event's proceeds were donated to the Ellen Clippinger Financial Assistance Fund. This fund provides AYS scholarships to deserving children who come from low-income families. Each year, the demand for AYS scholarships exceeds available funds, hence the need for fundraising events such as these. In the 2013-2014 fiscal year alone, there were 90 recipients of AYS scholarships.
